Save the Adak Update #2

WOW! I am so grateful and honored to announce that we already have nearly 6,000 signatures helping to save the Coast Guard Cutter Adak. This is quite impressive considering we just launched the Change.org petition five days ago.

I just wanted to provide you a few quick updates.

  1. Your efforts are truly working and you are being heard. Democrats and Republicans in Congress are actually working together on a effort to stop this. So, if you have not already done so, please contact your congressional representatives and tell them to link up with Congressman Gus Bilirakis (FL-Rep) and Congressman Charlie Crist (FL-Dem), who are working together to save this important 9/11 artifact and piece of American history.
  2. Please Donate! The more money we raise, the stronger our chances improve for getting the Adak. While time is running out, our likelihood is actually improving that we could get the Coast Guard Cutter Adak. As you are probably already aware, we have already taken on significant costs to pay for things up until this point. We need to show the government that the American public wants to bring this important piece of history home.

If you can please help us today by donating as little as $5, we can work towards hitting our initial fundraising goal to have enough money to entirely fund the Adak’s return home. Having the financial resources in place will help show the government this is serious.

To raise funds, we decided to use the crowdfunding platform GiveSendGo since it is free, and you can help #SaveTheAdak by donating at https://givesendgo.com/savetheadak So, please donate today!

  3. Please keep calling the media.
  4. Please keep sharing on social media.
  5. Please keep telling your friends and family about this.
  6. Use #savetheadak in your posts to help to get this topic to become trending.
  1. Follow the Adak on social media @USCGCAdak on Facebook and Twitter, and remember to use #SaveTheAdak

When I set out on this effort more than a year ago, I knew this would be a difficult task. Many people told me it would be impossible, but I simply don’t believe that things are impossible, especially in America when people have the ability to change the outcome by voicing their opinion.

It genuinely brings joyful tears to my eyes to see our country coming together on something so meaningful to me and my fellow former crewmembers of the Adak.

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so very much for your support. I am and will continue to be eternally grateful.

Respectfully & Semper Paratus,

James P. Judge
